19th Annual Works of Heart Valentine Auction

Once again I am a contributing artist to this year`s Works of Heart Valentine Auction sponsored by the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. This wonderful event is hosted at the Memphis College of Art and involves artists from a wide regional area. Proceeds from this auction go directly to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center; an important agency that serves children who are victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. The MCAC helps "victims become children again".

My donated arwork this year is a framed 10" by 20" bas relief sculpture hand-cast polyurethane resin with a painted bronze finish. It is titled "Heart's Desire" and depicts a wary horse stretching towards a tempting golden apple held just out of reach. The apple is a symbol of longing, a tantalizing treat that ensnares the hungry heart.

The auction party held at the Memphis College of Art in Overton Park in Memphis was a big success this year and raised over $80,000.00 after expenses for the Center. The first casting of Ann's limited edition sculpture, "Heart's Desire," sold at the auction. You can purchase your own casting in the edition. Ann will donate a portion of the sale proceeds of each casting of "Heart's Desire" to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center.
