17th Annual Works of Heart Valentine Auction |
| I am pleased to be a contributing artist to this year`s Works of Heart Valentine Auction sponsored by the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. This wonderful event is hosted at the Memphis College of Art and involves artists from a wide regional area. Proceeds from this auction go directly to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center; an important agency that serves children who are victims of sexual and severe physical abuse. The MCAC helps "victims become children again". In keeping with the valentine theme and the mission of the MCAC, I created a life-size newborn puppy tenderly cradled in cupped hands to represent the trust and unspoken wish of every innocent young life to be cherished and cared for with the promise of unconditional love in return. With love comes great responsibility and great rewards. The sculpture titled "My Heart is in Your Hands" rests on a wooden heart shaped base. It is available for $1250 each in a limited edition of 20 as a hand-cast polyurethane resin with a bronze finish and for $2500 in a limited edition of 10 as a traditional cast bronze, plus an artist proof casting in each edition. 10% of the proceeds of the sale of each sculpture will be donated to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center. |
