"Through my art I hope to convey a glimpse into the workings of the animal mind. As I watch animals I am always wondering what they are thinking and how they perceive the world. Since the outward behavior of animals is the best clue that we have to their inner life, action and expression are important aspects of my sculptures.
I notice what is special about my subjects. I strive to capture their unique qualities...that sense of individualism and personality that sets one living thing apart from another.
I also understand the bond between animals and the people who love, train, and care for them. I have lived with animals my entire life. I appreciate the depth of the human / animal connection and I enjoy sculpting animals and people interacting in those relationships."
